Norm Kaplan was the driving force behind the creation of Colchester Youth Soccer founded in 1985.  In his years of coaching, mentoring, and volunteering for soccer in Colchester, he positively influenced thousands of players and families. Norm was the first coach that many of our soccer players had as he led kindergarten soccer for many years, always with a welcoming smile, and a fun and unique approach. He forever instilled good sportsmanship and a love of the game to our players, and his traditions will continue at the Colchester Soccer Club.

Recognizing the magnitude of Norm Kaplan's dedication to the Colchester Soccer Club, in 2021 we renamed our Recreation Fun Day in his honor.
